Landis+Gyr, Puget Sound Energy Extend Contract for Advanced Metering Services
Under terms of the contract, Landis+Gyr provides management of the advanced meter network and meter data retrieval for PSE’s 1.1 million electric and 800,000 natural gas meters. Landis+Gyr began installing the PSE meter reading network in 1997 and completed the final phase of deployment in 2006.

In addition to a variety of service offerings – from turnkey smart grid deployments to data hosting – Landis+Gyr continues to provide fully managed service agreements that include end-to-end maintenance, management and support for network, meter and data systems. PSE is one of 20 utilities that currently contract with Landis+Gyr to operate and maintain their meter networks. The fixed RF network installed at PSE provides the utility with daily meter data used for billing and operations purposes. It also offers a proven migration path to deploy the two-way Gridstream network for utilities requiring two-way communication for demand response and customer engagement activities.
